Wellness & Vaccinations

As a caring pet parent, you want your companion to experience as many happy, healthy years as possible. The best way to achieve this goal is by making a lifelong commitment to wellness care. Bringing your pet in once or twice a year allows us to both manage their current health and monitor it over time. In many cases, wellness visits provide our experienced veterinarians with the opportunity to identify a potential medical concern and address it immediately, before it can develop into a more serious and costly problem. This early detection and disease management can vastly improve the length and quality of your companion’s life.

Noah’s Animal Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Center provides comprehensive wellness care services to help each and every patient we serve enjoy as long, happy and healthy a life as possible. Our wellness services have been expertly designed to assist your pet through every life stage, providing all of the support necessary to address their changing health care needs along the way. From a first round of vaccinations and a parasite prevention plan for your puppy or kitten to annual exams and routine diagnostics to monitor your adult dog or cat’s ongoing health, to the specialized care needed to help your senior pet live out his or her golden years comfortably, we’re prepared to work with you, every step of the way, providing a lifetime of quality care.

The comprehensive wellness care and preventative medicine services available to patients of Noah’s Animal Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Center include:

12 Body System Examination – Companion animals age at a much faster rate than we do, which means regular checkups are even more important for our pets. Your pet should be examined thoroughly – from “nose to tail” – at least every year, but preferably every six months.

Customized Vaccination Plan – Vaccinations provide our pets with extra protection against a wide variety of serious, sometimes life threatening illnesses and diseases. Yet, just because a vaccine is available doesn’t mean it’s necessarily right for your pet. Our wellness visits include customized vaccination plans that are tailored to meet your pet’s unique needs and risk factors.

Preventative Blood Work – Not every illness or disease can be easily detected on the surface of the skin. Beyond our external examination, we will run a series of routine tests to learn what’s happening inside your pet’s body. Doing this on a regular basis increases the chances that if a problem should crop up, it can be quickly and effectively dealt with, improving the chances of a positive outcome for your pet.

Preventative Dental Care – Routine, preventative care for your pet’s teeth and gums plays an important role in helping them stay happy and healthy. Your companion should receive a dental exam and cleaning at least once a year, in addition to ongoing dental care at home.

Parasite Prevention – There are any number of parasites, both internal and external, that are just waiting for the opportunity to latch on to a host. Not only are our animal companion’s at risk of parasites, but many of these tiny pests can also be transmitted to humans, placing everyone in your home in danger. Part of our comprehensive wellness services includes a customized parasite prevention plan which will help keep everyone in the family safe.

Nutrition – Good nutrition plays a pivotal role in your pet’s life and longevity. Yet, with so many food products on the market today, how can you be sure what’s you’re feeding your pet is truly meeting their needs? What about weight and supplements? We’ll answer all of your questions and provide specific guidance to help your pet receive the right nutritional balance for a lifetime of optimum health.

Grooming and Bathing – Baths, haircuts and nail trims all go a long way toward promoting good health – both internally and outwardly. Regular grooming keeps your pet’s coat clean, skin healthy and helps to reduce or eliminate annoyances like pet dander and shedding. Noah’s Animal Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Center recommends this as part of your pet’s overall wellness plan.

Lastly, although perhaps most importantly, wellness visits give us the chance to really get to know you and your pet and to develop a lifelong relationship with you both. When we’re comfortable with each other, it makes working together to manage your pet’s health easier and much more effective. We promise to keep you abreast of your pet’s health care, to answer your questions and address your concerns, and to provide you with all the education and tools necessary to provide your pet with the best possible care throughout his or her lifetime.

Don’t wait until your pet is sick to bring them in for veterinary care. Give your pet the gift of a lifetime of good health by making a commitment to ongoing wellness care with Noah’s Animal Hospital.
